Description
Authentic arrowhead of the Roman Empire.
The archers who were part of the Roman army entered it as part of auxiliary troops. They generally made up for the army's shortcomings in specific tactical actions.
Thus they were not integrated into the battle formation. The archers wore their own clothes, characteristic of their place of origin, as well as their own weapons.
During Scipio's siege of Numantia, the archers were employed as light infantry troops, so that they were integrated among the legionary centuries. The arrows they used were made of wood, with iron or bronze tips. The bow was also made of wood.
