World War I postcard originals
Germany declared war on Russia on August 1, 1914. After the outbreak of war with its eastern neighbor, Germany implemented the Schlieffen Plan, and the fears of the Luxembourg government were realized. At first, the territory of Luxembourg was only a staging post for the German Fourth Army, commanded by Albert of Württemberg. One of the railroad lines from the Rhineland to France passed through the village of Troisvierges in the far north of Luxembourg. The first German violation of Luxembourg's sovereignty and neutrality was the use of the Troisvierges station, and Eyschen's protests were ignored.
Being originals, all postcards are different from each other.
