The Silver Crown of Alfonso XII de Borbón

Alfonso XII de Borbón, known as "The Peacemaker," was born in Madrid on November 28, 1857, and passed away at El Pardo on November 25, 1885.

King of Spain from 1874 to 1885, Alfonso XII ascended the throne during the Bourbon Restoration. Son of Queen Isabel II and Francisco de Asís de Borbón, his reign symbolized a return to stability after years of turmoil. Tragically, his life was cut short at the age of 27 due to tuberculosis. He was succeeded by his posthumous son, Alfonso XIII, with the regency of his widow, María Cristina of Austria, guiding Spain during the early years of Alfonso XIII’s reign.
